| Sweet, sweet Benni: Look at his face...can you imagine that
he and 4 litter mates were left in a wildlife refuge duct taped up in a
box when only 3 weeks old!? They had sarcoptic mange, and had open sores
all over their bodies. We have no clue how long they were there,
but they needed lots of medical attention their first 8 weeks after rescuing.
Benni was adopted to the Reynolds family in Mass. Sadly Benni has passed
on to Rainbow Bridge now, but he lived a long happy life with them! |

Kernal, was from a litter of 9 purebred Shepherds. Sadly
at 13Mos. old he was "removed & later surrendered" from his
home and euthanized due to severe uncontrolable seizures that resulted
from head & face trauma. Look at Kernal as a peaceful 8 week old puppy
sleeping...what could he have done that was so bad to have this happen
to him?

Handsome Baxter(Right) & Jerry Lee are: Kernal's
( above) brothers! They fortunately have wonderful happy homes. This only
goes to show you...that no matter how carefully you screen adoptive homes...we
don't live with these people, and sadly...animal abuse can and does happen
in all walks of life!

Laddie was rescued from a shed that had no windows or
ventilation. He was born & lived in this shed for 16 weeks along with
7 other Collie pups. We rescued them all. They have never been out of the
shed or seen daylight... this entire litter took between 11 & 18 months
to place into homes due to their lack of social skills with people as well
as their fears of daylight. Laddie loved our little Siamese kitty
Tiki. Shown here. He now lives happily in NH.
MORE STORIES TO COME!
