These Geese are no longer seeking a home!

As the former Animal Control Officer for the Town of Amesbury, MA I had housed the Town's flock of China Geese & Pekin Ducks for many years as part of my job. Every winter they would come to our barn and then we always returned them to their pond by the first of May every year and re-captured them again by the end of November.

I resigned from my Animal Control position November 1998 but offered to house the flock again at our barn for the winter months for the Town, assuming like all prior years and prior ACO's that they would be allowed to be returned to their pond in the spring and recaptured in the fall again.

The Town of Amesbury no longer wanted the responsibility for the flock, so they have ended up here with us full time. We did seek a new pond home for them for a long time, with no success, so here they still remain!

The flock originally consisted of 3 white China Geese ( 2 males 1 female) and 2 male Pekin Ducks, however over the years we have lost both ducks and one male goose to old age.

The flock has been together for close to 20 years and once loved their pond, but I guess the pool & barn set up they have now has surficed!
