17 August: Fostered in CT. but needs forever home! View photos of Bam-Bam in his foster home. Email foster home - Pat

UPDATE 8 Sept from foster mom. Bammy is an adorable 1 year old small shepherd/ border collie mix. He is a sweet, happy boy who is wonderful with other dogs and LOVES dog play of any kind. He also enjoys playing with toys and will amuse himself by tossing, catching, chasing, and rolling around on them. Although Bammy has had a sheltered puppyhood, and is therefore cautious with new people, he is doing amazingly well at gaining confidence and becoming increasingly comfortable in his foster home. He has also been to several indoor and outdoor dog events and activities, and did very well meeting strangers and other dogs. His new family will need to continue with his training and exposure to help him progress with gaining confidence and trust. Bammy is neutered, UTD on all his shots, HW negative, micro-chipped, crate trained, and housebroken. He rides well in the car, walks nicely on leash, is quiet in his crate, and is fine with cats. A sweet, gentle boy, Bammy has come a long way in his foster home, and is ready for his own special forever family.

SIS IS LOST FROM HER NEW FAMILY IN HOOKSETT, NH!! PLEASE CONTACT LINDA IF YOU SIGHT HER!

SIS WAS ADOPTED.

Sis - 2 yrs old female. She came to NH two years ago. Her sister was adopted and lives in NH. Sis had always been in her more ubullient sister's shadow. She is very shy but has made some gains this past year. Sis is submissive with male dogs and even some females. She enjoys playing with dogs her own size (20 lbs). She needs a patient family or person who can take the time to help her come out of her shell. As a shiba, she is a flight risk who would benefit from a fenced yard. needs a very patient owner to help bring out her best qualities.

16 August: Fostered in Merrimac, MA. Email Bonnie for more info on Buffy

Buffy. 11 mos old female. (Buffy, Fluffy & Hoshi, are littermates.) Buffy is quite shy. She likes some gentle playing and is submissive to dogs her size or larger. She likes being right with her human or at least in the vicinity. With time for adjustment, she'd make a good steady house companion, going for walks and having playmates in the neighborhood she could play with (in a fenced yard or dog park, of course). Weighs 36 lbs.

In NH foster home, still needs adoptive home.

Jersey. 10 mos old male. (Jersey, Shirley and Tuxedo are littermates.) Jersey is an athletic, quick boy with silky fur and a pretty face. A short time after his first Lyme shot, he had what appears to have been a seizure. The whole thing, including post recovery lasted three minutes. Then he snapped out of it and was ready to run and play again. I do not know if the shot caused this. I do know that he never had one prior to this. He enjoys playing with dog friends and relatives. He enjoys being petted and having his ears and chin scratched. Weighs 28 lbs.

ADOPTED!

In a Newton, MA foster home with Fluffy, still needs adoptive home. View photos of Hoshi in his foster home.

Hoshi. 11 mos old male. (Buffy, Fluffy & Hoshi, are littermates.) Hoshi is Japanese for Star. When he was a small pup, there was a white blaze on his forehead. Of course, his luck, the star is gone now. But he's still Hoshi. He's a handsome boy, the smallest pup in the litter (height). He enjoys playing with his brothers, but would probably do just as well as an "only pet". As with his littermates, Hoshi will be initially shy as he adjusts to his new setting. Weighs 36 lbs.

Update 9/2/07 from foster home: Hoshi has warmed up to us (my husband and 9 and 12-yr old sons) in an amazing speed since we brought him home. He enjoys our two other female dogs. He seems to prefer female dogs over male dogs. He gets very excited about his walks. He is initially shy with people, with some patience and TLC, he would come up and sniff your hand and let you pat him. He is playful, would play fetch with you. He loves to be brushed. He is a very sweet and a handsome pup!

ADOPTED!

In a Newton, MA foster home with Hoshi, still needs adoptive home. View photos of Fluffy in his foster home.

Fluffy. 11 mos old male. (Buffy, Fluffy, & Hoshi are littermates.) Fluffy has curly fur. He is afraid of my brother's dog, so has lost some of his self-confidence since coming to the states. But he should recover to his old ways quickly in a more peaceful, secure setting. He enjoys playing with other dogs, especially females. He does require some grooming upkeep due to his unusual fur. Weighs 38 lbs.

Update 9/2/07 from foster home: Fluffy has very unique curly hair. His hair is very VERY soft especially after bath! He came to us with his brother, Hoshi. They both had done an amazing job in getting used to our house, our family with 9 and 12 years old boys, and our two female dogs. He enjoys his walks. He loves to play with our female dogs. He is playful and loves to play fetch or tug of war with you. Like his brother Hoshi, Fluffy is shy initially, but will get adjusted to his new setting quickly. He surprised us when a girl came up to him on the street during our walk, and Fluffy sniffed/kissed the little girl!

ADOPTED!

Tuxedo (Tucker) - 10 mos old male. (Jersey, Shirley and Tuxedo are littermates.) Tuxedo is a shy boy who barks at strangers at first. He'd make a good watch dog (not guard dog). He enjoys playing with females and lately has been playing more appropriately with the other boys, especially Oodles. Weighs 28 lbs.

The above dogs are available for adoption through Linda Cobb in Nashua, NH. Linda rescued each dog from Okinawa, Japan while she teaches school there 10 months of every year.

Linda heads back to Japan every August for teaching, all her rescues need adoptive or foster homes prior to her departure on 19 August. All her pooches range in age from 9 months to 2 years old. They are fully vetted, Altered & micro-chipped. Email Linda for more Info on each pooch. Adoption fee applies for each dog.

Currently in boarding with his canine friend Becky, in Manchester, NH.

Noriske - 2 yrs old male. He is very social with other dogs, and has a very ritualized resource guarding act. He plays with some toys. He likes to dig a little hole, put the toy in it, then lie on top of it. Any male dog approaching the hole gets warned off. He will let me scratch all around his head, neck and tail, and stroke him down his back. He's such a great guy to know, he has exquisite body language. Noriske would be adoptable to the right dog-savvy family. He's a (former) feral tomb dog, so respecting cats comes with the territory. He's come a long way thanks to Rachel at All Dogs Gym. Noriske would benefit from another dog friend and a very patient owner.

BECKY

SHAQUILLE is a 9 year old, black and rust, cropped and docked male whose owners gave him up when they adopted a child. The agency wouldn’t allow the adoption until the Doberman was removed from the home. Shaquille was kept outside all day in the backyard and stayed in the laundry room at night. One of the children spilled the beans that he “cries a lot” in there. Sure do hope the new adopted child gets better treatment and is more a part of the family than Shaquille was…Despite having a chronic joint problem with his rear leg, Shaquille runs like crazy. He also has no trouble attempting to get into anything edible…no matter how high up it might be. Clever boy! Shaquille is not a friend to cats.

Hutch typifies the phrase, "Oldie but Goodie" He possesses the manners and dignity befitting his age, and he is friendly and gentle with dogs, cats and respectful children.
Hutch came to rescue when his owners took him to vet to be euthanized because they were moving to an assisted living facility and only small dogs were allowed. The vet refused and his vet tech who was familiar with rescue took him home and contacted a local rescuer. She took Hutch for a few days, but couldn't keep him so contacted GSRNE. Hutch had made a trek through 4 temporary homes before finally making it to his foster home, and won the hearts of each of them with his easy-going personality. Click here for more Info on Hutch!
